Hogtied rant/question

I am wondering if I am just being a grumpy old fart or if others really get (angry) off at the fat wardens being hogtied all the time. For crying out loud, if you are going to buy it then pull the trigger, if not then let it go!!!! I am sorry if I have offended somebody's sensibilities, but I would love a satin with tan micarta, I work 80 hours a week, and every (dang) time I go on the store they are either unavailable or hog tied. ( I drive a locomotive so it's not like I have internet at work). end of rant.
 
Yeah, the cart hogging really sucks. And it sucks the most for Skunk, I would think. He would rather be selling that INFI than having someone hold it in their carts ad nauseam.
 
Yeah, I would buy the satin and black warden right now if I could get it.
NOTE TO HOGTIER - Knife collecting is when you actually buy the knife. Look deep down in your soul and ask yourself just what kind of person are you. Play fair. If you can't afford the knife or knives now, then wait until you have the money before you put them in your cart. Go to Wally World if you need layaway.

I thought Skunk was going to a plan that would dump someone's cart if they haven't paid in 15 min.

Some hold something to wait and see if another they want comes up so they can combine the shipping.

Seems like all you order that day should be only charged once for shipping, no matter if ordered seperate or not.
Not sure if it can be set up that way but it would keep people from holding stuff in there cart.

If I may make a suggestion--

Given your work schedule, find someone here who is on the board often enough that they might have a realistic chance of snagging one for you. Work it out so that they maybe get a little something for their time and effort and you ultimately get the knife you want. IMO, that is your best bet.

There seemed to be plenty last night. I was surprised. I'm not so sure it's always a hog-tier. Might just be temp-OOS.
 
I wonder if its even someone who visits the forum? I can understand the desire to hold one until you get funds in place but bottom line, people should either sh*t or get off the pot so to speak. Unfortunately, until the system changes to prevent it, human nature will likely be what it is.

Maybe it should require a name of the hogtier next to the listing! Then at least we could be harassing the person :D

No, it is not that, unless I'm confused (which could well be). If I understood Skunk right, then hogtied means all of the following at the same time:
1) Skunk has the knife in stock, physically - lying around on his tables and all over the floor and places ;)
2) BUT right this second someone (possibly more than one someone) is keeping all of the inventory in their cart
3) AND that someone has not checked out yet
4) SO no one actually knows whether the knives will be sold and really go out of stock in a few minutes or get bounced back in the store when the hogtier decides to stop screwing around or Skunk empties the carts, whichever comes first.

It is my understanding that knives that are out of stock even just temporarily will entirely disappear from the store's order here listing. We should put this stuff in the company store FAQ, I think, if Skunk confirms it. :)
 
Great idea SplittinHairs. Skunk, you should set it up so that unless you are logged in you cannot put them in your basket and hold them. without looging in you can still see them but you cannot hang onto them unless you log in and then we can see who the A$$ W!9es are who do this. Well at least Skunk can see who they are. :D

Its definately somebody here. Ive seen the BCS go from completely full to completely Hogtied as we speak on this. Im not saying its somebody who contributes but they are watching us.
