Hogue EX01 underrated?

I kinda like the looks of the Ex02, but they are all black coated blades. Maybe I will pick up a medium ex01 some day. I would rather have a slightly thiner blade with better steel, no glass breaker, and no coating for the same price, but that really isn't their thing.

I bought an EX01 with Gmascus for my brother. It was an instant return. The lockup was great, sharp as hell, and very smooth to deploy, but the lack of liners in the handle made the knife super blade heavy to the point of being unwieldy. It just didn't feel good in the hand. I really would have appreciated just a bit of weight in the handle to balance it out. When I would deploy the knife, my hand had the feeling that the knife wasn't going to stay there. Both my wife and brother felt the same way. It was a bummer. I really guy the knife and was pleased by the quality as it was, but it needed just a bit more in my opinion.

Does anyone have any side-by-side shots of one of the Hogue 4" models and the Hinderer XM-24? I was just curious to see how they differed in size.

Picking up the 4 inch drop point in the green aluminum in a bit. I have done my research on the knife through reviews and online sources and have only heard good things. It will be surely nice to have a knife in your pocket that is that well built that has not earned its publicity yet like ZTs and other high end tactical knifes.

I had a 4" droppoint in aluminum and really liked it, but sold it. I want to try a gmascus version. Mine open easy, blade centered, no blade play what so ever. One fine knife!

I have the hogue ex02.

other than the black blade, its an awesome knife. I feel like it is indestructible, im sure it isnt but It feels very solid.

I usr this outdoors when I dont want to scuff the sebenza.

houge makea a good knife.

I havent had a problem with the steel yet...

I havent batoned with it, but itll eat wood all day and still retain sharpness. Maybe upgraded steel should be an upgradeable option..

I own the Hogue EX-1 Black G-10, and i really like this knife.. I also have a Zero Tolerance 0550 and the 0200, but prefer the Hogue.. I is so smooth to operate...
