I called Hogue about having them remove the thumbstud for me. Hogue told me that they wouldn't do it and that it was not recommended to avoid compromising the integrity of the blade. I then used a locking plier and succeeded in unscrewing the female end of the thumbstud. However, the male end (with the threaded portion), just spins around and doesn't unscrew at all. This makes me suspect that Hogue glued the male end on the blade. Tried to pry it off or the press the screw side out, but no luck. Can anyone suggest a solvent that might loosen the remaining side of the thumbstud?
