Hogue X5 button lock 3 1/2" in sky blue for $140

The Hogue X5 Blue (3.5" CPM-154 Spear Point blade, Blue Aluminum frame, flipper, button lock with manual safety) is exclusive to a firearms distributor and you just don't see it at most knife dealers. Also, that's a great price! Hogue makes great knives in the U.S.

Yes, we know you found a great price on the Ninja Disembowel 4000 at SuperPriceMART. We don't care. We'd prefer you support the dealers who support BladeForums.com.

As such, we don't allow deal spotting because otherwise the forums would be a quagmire of "deals" (real or imagined) posted everywhere, or unscrupulous people posting "deals" for non paying dealers. So don't do it.
Don't think this flies.

OK. I deleted my post.

But I still think there should be a way to let people know about 'special deals', or discounts for a short time. Over the weekend, one of the knife distributors had the ZT0900GLD for $149.99. An outstanding buy on this brand new limited/sprint run knife. About the price that used, plain ZT0900's are selling for. People who aren't on the mailing list won't learn about this exceptionally good price that was only good for 2 days. I am signed up on a few of the bigger knife sites to get their E-mails. But it's impossible to sign up on every website.

There is nothing more annoying and depressing than buying knife for $180, only to discover, a week later, and after you have USED the knife, that you could have purchased it for $40 less, but you didn't know WHERE. This has happened to me.

I don't own or run this website, so this is just my opinion.

But answer this question: is there anyone who DOESN'T want an easy way to find sale prices and short term extremely good buys on the knives they want to buy?

This forum exists to share information on knives. Isn't information on WHERE to buy knives at a very good price just as important as finding a review on a new knife?

Maybe you feel so, but unless the deal is going on with one BF's supporting knife retailers (they are the ones who keep the place open) it then it is explicitly against the rules.

Those deal spots just take business away from those supporting retailers.

Fully agree with you, a deal/bargain spotting forum is basic on many enthusiast forums. I often see some amazing deals out there, and I wish I could share with the awesome community here.

But I don't make the rules. Thems the breaks
