Just received my EX01 Tanto and I thought Kershaw had the best out of box sharpness.

My EX01 came with a mirror edge, now I don't want to use it because it's difficult to get that mirror perfection.

Just wanted to let you guys know how amazing their products are!

I'd second the sharpness, I recently picked up their 5.5" fixed blade and the edge for a production knife is amazing, especially a big fixed blade with pretty steep angles, I can't even imagine how nice the edge on their folders must be. It's hands down the sharpest knife out of the box with the nicest polished edge that I can remember getting in a long time, fixed or folder. Not even in the same ballpark as recent benchmade, zt, spyderco, DPX, strider etc. have showed up with. Not that those were bad, but it's obvious that Hogue is putting a ton of effort into ensuring the edges are super sharp and polished. It's the first knife in a long time that after checking out the edge out of the box I didn't even consider touching up. Honestly for a bigger fixed blade it's probably TOO polished, usually I like a little microserration effect on my heavier duty fixed blades, but just the fact they took the effort to do it is impressive.

The rest of the knife is nice, not perfect and the sheath leaves a lot to be desired, but that edge, wow! Other manufacturers could learn a lot from whatever sharpening Hogue is doing to their production knives.

I recently acquired a Hogue EX-04. The F&F, lock, ergo's and overall quality is amazing! The utility of the modified Warncliff blade, once you grasp it's full potential, coupled with the double grind is pure genius and very impressive.

I have to say, fist impressions are making this knife one of my favorites very quickly. Only time will tell but if it last's and performs as well as I expect it to over time, It may just be one of the better folding knives I ever purchased.

I also just learned it won "American-Made Knife of the Year" at blade this year. and I can see why.

I'm very impressed to say the least. Houge's EX / Elishewitz series knives are stand outs for sure, I'm very impressed!

I got to handle that knife at Bladeshow, and it does have superb ergos, melts in the hand. You've got a keeper there for sure.

Hey PBCG! I'll see your EX-04 and raise you an autographed box! Lol

Show off!

And your most welcome, glad you like it so much. That was great you were able to get the box autographed at the show, really nice!

Not only did he design a killer knife but Allen Elishewitz is a class act all the way, I've always been partial to his designs.

Loving the look of that Red one bro. Makes me realise one just might not be enough....

If they would do this in a non-gmascus styling - I would be interested for the right price - hopefully the EX05 etc.... offer some different handle styling options. Really like the unique blade shapes on these (upswept and the modified wharncliff)

If you can legally own / carry automatics, try one of theirs. I have a 4" EX03 Tanto. IMHO one of the best at any price.

Found a few Hogue EX03's just under $100 and I jumped on them - the 4" model is too large for my tastes but the 3.5" is just perfect - that tanto design is stunning.

I have seen the automatics around $200 - considering how fast the deployment is on these without any assist - I sure don't need it :)
