Hi. I got a friend a Kalinga Pro folder, and he is very pleased with it. However, he is not so enthused about the sheath/holder it comes with.

Any alternative, not too pricey, suggestions? It does not have to say "Buck", just be practical to hang on a belt.

Thanks.

I believe it fits the nylon sheath from a Buck Omni folding knife (the larger one). I'll check on this tomorrow at work. - Jim

Will be really cool if these come with a horizontal nylon sheath... one of the better ones...

Jimmer,,,,could you check and see if they will fit the nylon sheath that the Alpha folder and the 110/112 transistion came in. Those are horizontal carry.

Ok, my mistake! It is the nylon sheath for the large Alpha Hunter (278, 279) that fits the Kalinga Pro folders.

By the way, Gylman, about your friend who doesn't like the sheath - I was curious if his friend is inserting the knife into the sheath tip up or tip down? The sheath was designed for the knife to fit in it tip-up. If he is inserting the knife back end first, it won't fit in the sheath well. Unfortunately, a lot of people try this and wonder why the knife fits awkwardly in the sheath.

Thanks for all the info. I'll check out the Alpha hunter nylon sheath. (FOUND on eBay, that was easy!)

Jimmer, I don't know how he was trying to fit the knife in, but I have to say that with my Buck Knives Alpha Dorado Rosewood Hunting Knife (271) I have the same type of sheath, and I have to say I am not enthused about it myself. The fit is too tight, and to snap it shut creases an ugly crease in the sheath leather.
