Hole in sebenza handle

I was wondering why there is a hole on the non locking scale of the sebenza, it matches the hole cut out for the lock on the other side, but it seems to be useless, I noticed that it isn't there on the wood inlays. Is there any purpose to this hole? I think it is kind of ugly on some of the decorated sebenzas.

Kile, that hole is needed when the scales go through the machining process, it is one of the holes used to clamp the scale down while the machine runs around the outside edge, a necessary evil I'd say....

That hole is for inlay of some jewelry.
Look unique graphic decorated seb at the
ChrisReeve sight.
You know the way of using that hole.

Not inlay, it is useless exactly.

That hole is on every Sebenza made...even the wood inlay model. The wood just covers it from the outside of the handle view.
