Hollow grind/distal taper question

I'm using 3/16 stock removal 1084 for a small skinner that I make.
I usually make it out of 1/8 and ffg, but i wanted to try something new just to make a one off and i'm planning to hollow grind it.

The blade is about 1.5" so it's a chubby little guy. The wheel is 8". I dont plan on taking the hollow all the way to the spine.

Would anyone recommend distal taper before bevels or after? I was thinking if I do the distal taper afterwards that it would make the bevels look weird.

Hope this makes sense, thanks for any help.

If I'm picturing this right then you wont be able to keep your grind straight with distal taper before or after. I think on a skinner that a full flat grind is not necessary. Your main goal is shallow slices. While I would recommend using thinner stock, if you grind it thin and take it as high as you can, it will be fine without distal taper.

Matt I'm just wondering if a little distal taper towards the point will look less blocky when looking at the knife from the spine.
I usually use 1/8, I'm just wanting to try a hollow grind since this 3/16 is sitting here and I just want to see how it performs.

You're going to have some anyway from following the cutting edge. I wouldn't worry about it but that's just me. I would take the grind up as high as I could though.
