Jantz Supply has a hollow grinding attachment for the KMG belt grinder, I was wondering if any of you have used one and if it worked good.

I have used one on a Bader grinder and it works great, follow the instuctions for setup precisely, you do need the elevator attachment.

I would like more feedback (and even a picture or two) from others who own the Hollow Grinding Attachment from Jantz Supply.

I tried to order it online from Jantz, but the part # for the KMG came up as unavalable. I called Jantz and they said that they had allot of returns from people that have a KMG because you have to modify the rest for it to work. Jantz said that I could not return it if I ordered it. :thumbdn:I figured I can make any modifications needed so I ordered it. :D I have not had time to see what I will need to do to make it work. I will post some pictures after I get it on the grinder and let you know how I like it.

I have one and it will fit any rest. ANyone want it for $100 less the instructions? Maybe I can find the instructions....don't know for sure. i just decided to learn how to freehand. I used it for 10 blades or so and it works just fine..just went in another direction.

BINGBINGBING!!!!!!

Give that man a CEEGARRRR!!!!!!!!!

I guess there's nothing wrong with using a jig like this, but I'm thankful that the gang around me browbeat me into learning freehand. I'm not limited to the inflexibility of the jig, and can move the grind anywhere I wish, or feather or taper it as I see fit, as well. Spend the money on steel and belts and waste them until you 'get it'... you won't be sorry!

Exactly!
The only hollow grinding attachment you need is a wheel!

I have freehand hollow grinded my blades for years, I bought the jig with hopes that it will speed up the process on long kitchen knifes. It will probably end up in my junk pile with all the other gadgets I have bought threw the years. You would think I would learn but Im a gadget aholic.
