I didn't either since I'm partial to both. (But will admit to loving the look of a well executed hollow grind, and own many.)

I think a large Bowie with a full, large flat grind would look Sweet..... I've got a 14" wheel, but mostly use it for other stuff. Someday, maybe

Well, I tried to edit the poll options and buggered it up! sorry about that and I can't undo it, but you now have the middle of the road choice as some mentioned.

Hollow ground looks nice. I do like the look of a hollow grind.

My hollow ground blades include Buck 110, CRKT M21, Leatherman ?Wave . . .

However, a thin flat grind can make a great slicer. My post beef slicer is flat.

So is my chef's knife.

So is my filet knife.

And my Spiderco folder (don't know the model).

The Cold Steel American Lawman in the two first versions were hollow ground and very useful knives. I ended up snapping a large chunk out of the blade trying to fix a bend in the edge. I bent it cutting a small tree down with it while in a hurry at work, I should have just left it with a bent edge but I decided to try to straighten out the whoop and snapped out a chunk the size of half a nickel. I love a well done hollow grind but I like all the other grinds for what they are best at, hollows aren't exactly the toughest grind. I have a new American Lawman but the changes they have made in the newer model make it less ideal. Flats saber grind , too thin scales, finer texture G10 all have made it a lesser knife with better blade steel.

I also really like a fuller on a large bladed knife . . .for esthetic reasons.

The USMC Ka-Bar just looks so butch. As does the Air Force Pilot's Survival Knife.

Randall should have done that on their #1. So should Chris Reevehave done on their "Green Beret".

But that is just me.

For me it kinda depends on my uses. I like a nice high hollow grind on some of my hunting knives and generally prefer a full flat grind on my "do it all' EDC knives. IMHO a well done high hollow grinds does perform slightly better in most hunting/trapping uses, but a nice thin blade with a full flat grind isn't far behind.

P.S. I despise thick blades on a hunting knife.

I'm not sure I've ever used a hollow ground kitchen knife.

I think a majority of us prefer a hollow ground blade with a thin behind the edge. Of course heavier duty type knives would handle rough duty, but most cut are less effort with a hollow ground blade.

My recent folder by Kizer has a nice hollow ground blade of M390

I’m always looking for hollow ground blades so if you like them please post ones that you have first hand experience with.
