hollow handle on buck 119 special?

Here's a shot of an unassembled 119:
(click on the pic)

*Now* I see why Joe says to chisel the phenolic handle off...There's "locking slots" on the edges of the grip tang... :grumpy:

Also, that's a virgin knife...casting lines still visible...looks like the pommel was tumbled...but not yet polished...the two holes for the pin look like different sizes, don't they?...Did Joe ever say if there was any pressure applied when they assembled the knife, or were they confidant the epoxy would keep everything from rattling?...

the point of doing this mod is that i dont want to buy a new knife at the moment since that would cost alot more than some paracord from ebay

ahgar you say u have done it would u mind posting some pics of the final product?

Hi Army4ever,

Here is a link to some very old Bucks that had a wrap job. Take a look maybe it will give you another option....If you feel the need to drill a hole in your knife buddy go for it. Some of the folks giving you grief rip apart Bucks and turn them into some very cool Frankenstein customs;):p.

Hay what gives???? I paid for my Gold membership and I'm not gold:mad: Oh well...at least I can search again:D
