Just saw this.
That's my side and Hollow probably sees it different.
What was it supposed to be - something like 20/25 % of spoken communication is in the words, and the other 75/80% is
non-verbal. Something like that.
For a moderator it's a double-bind situation when a situation like what happened to Hollow comes up. One side, it's not fair to the guy banned to talk about it if he hasn't a chance to defend himself. The other side is it's not fair to the forum to leave everyone wondering what happened.
Now that it's been done, I see that other options were available to me. But I didn't know them at the time because like UB, I rarely get out of the HI forum. Moving the thread to the Political forum was one option I never considered. Does it happen on other forums? All the time apparently. Has it happened on the HI forum? The next time will be the first time.
Two of the three folks banned on this forum have been unbanned. Bill and I agreed on letting BF back. Kendo also was willing to try harder when let back in, without being asked to. As soon as a month has passed Hollow will be reinstated regardless of whether he contacts me or not.
Bill and I don't like having anyone banned! ( Of course that doesn't mean we don't enjoy the quiet after someone's been bounced out of the Cantina.

)
I'll say this for myself and let Bill say what he wants: At 54, I'm learning that what goes around comes around, especially when you aren't looking over your shoulder. It's becoming easier for me to be scrupulous toward others than it is to keep looking over my shoulder for what I've done to others to boomerang on me when I'm oblivious. So that is how I try to behave. You can believe or disbelieve it.
