Holsters?

Beautiful holsters Ryan.
I like the texture on the Black OWB with the Comander in it.
I've got a question for you all....
I don't wear a belt day to day so would a Paddle still work without the support of a belt?

I would think this would depend on how heavy a gun you plan on carrying. I meet a guy at the range that had a little Sig (it was either a 380 or a 9mm) carrying IWB in a Remora holster. He said he couldn't wear a belt for medical reasons but really liked that holster for carry.

My IWB holsters are an Old Faithful (Crossbreed Hybrid style) and a Blade Tech. I recently go a Remora to try out for when I tuck a shirt in, so there's not any hooks or clips showing. I don't have a nice leather holster yet, someday maybe.

For range use I have a couple G Code paddle holsters that have served me well.

Thanks ky,all I have for now is a full size 1991,(that's considered carryable by some)but I'm going to go google Remora sheaths.
I have been thinking of getting a Ruger LCR in .357 for concealability & packability though.
I don't even carry the Colt in my edc pack because of the weight & bulk, but with the LCR I could have a weapon on my person all the time.

I`m really liking this one! Could something like that be done for a Ruger Single Action? (no, not for defense, just for "woods walking.") If not, probably my 3" S&W 629.

Hi John -

I have a Galco leather holster for my baby Kimber, and a Fobus plastic paddle for my Glock .40 and magazines.

I am really liking the paddle holster, although I did not think I would. The Fobus was only $20, but it has an adjustable retention, and it is very comfortable.

I used it all day today in a DTEL Tactical Pistol course, and the holster was absolutely comfortable and trouble free.

best

mqqn

I`d like to hear more about this!

As soon as I saw that pic I started dreaming again of a 3" 29. Somehow I knew you'd be thinking similar thoughts.

I appreciate the compliments on my work!

While I have never made that particular style holster for a SA revolver, I'm sure I could. I actually made a IWB not long ago for a 3 3/4" NMV.

Here is my Birdshead NMV 45 acp holster. I love this little revolver.

I've got an older leather Galco that is really nice, mainly because it is broken in - all nice and comfortable. It's for an older 38 revolver. About a year ago I stumbled across Garret Industries - I wanted a Kydex thigh holster and picked up one of their "silent thunder" holsters (fullsize semi auto) that was designed to swap platforms. I was quite pleased with the quality and flexibility of the system, and purchased one of their "in side the waist band silent thunders" for a daily carry small semi auto this spring - I've continued to be impressed with their gear. They line the kydex with leather and the holsters are custom fit to the weapon -- gives you a very smooth and secure system with very little "break-in" period needed.

Now that's a beautiful holster! I like the "half" holster type design for conceal carry of revolvers. Looks like you use quality leather too

I appreciate the compliments on my work!

I have holsters from a local Portland maker named Ted Blocker. I also have a Blackhawk holster that I was recently given but haven't been home to try it out yet.
Ryan, Thanks for the pic of the IWB with the BBQ belly. I have one of those bellies too and I think I will need one of those holsters one day. It looks like exactly what I've been wanting.
Your work looks fabulous. I'm betting that it works as good as it looks, too.

I believe Ted Blocker died years ago. Someone picked up the company name. They still make quality gear. I like Mitch Rosen, Galco and DeSantis.

Good to know. Thanks. I haven't stopped in there in 10 years or so. I sure love the holster I got from them then.
