Holy COW! Anyone seen X-Men 3??

I would like to thank stjames for my email.

and I does change pretty much everything.

I just got home from seeing it, forget all the nay saying film critics, it is great and makes a fitting 3rd installment of the trilogy.

And even though they seem to take forever, FOR GODS SAKE DO NOT LEAVE UNTIL AFTER ALL THE CREDITS HAVE RAN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I took the family to see the movie, we liked it. Didn't stay until after the credits though. Could someone tell me what happened?

I've read the spoilers, I gotta stop doing that, but I'll go see it. Someone told me about a Wolverine movie?

There was a long interview with Hugh Jackman in my local papers entertainment section a few days ago, he confirmed in it that there will be a Wolverine movie!

Here is some, not much, info'.

That could be pretty badass. It better be R rated, IMO.

I just saw the movie and I think it was better than the first two films.

What I would really like to see is an "X-Men vs The Hellfire Club" movie!!!

Hell, instead of everybody emailing eachother... why not just put in big letters "spoiler alert" and post what happens after.

The highlight was, imho, Ellen Page. *swoon* ohmigod... so cute.

I really didn't like the directing; the pacing, the drama, the pathos were all kind of "off" compared to Bryan Singer's masterful control.

Felt like Ratner totally wasted the skills of Stewart and McKellen... he managed to completely eliminate their stage presence, which is a fairly difficult thing to do!

The worst thing was that all the characters were homogenized. It was as if there were a bunch of lines, and Ratner rolled some dice to determine who was going to be the lucky fellow to say it. This is in contrast to the 1st and 2nd installments, where each character was much more true to their essence (and like the comics, somewhat more "over the top").

If my memory serves, she was Kitty Pryde? Your right, she is not only very pretty, but has one of the funniest lines in the movie. "Who's playing' D**khead?"

Yep, Kitty Pryde.

I LOVED that line.

Juggernaut's was pretty funny as a reference, too... but Kitty's was as crowd-pleasing as Eowyn's "I am no man". ;)

(BTW I thought it was something like, "Juggernaut: I'm not the kind of guy to play hide and seek. Kitty Pryde: Who's hiding, dickhead?")

I saw X-men III on Friday after work with a buddy, it was pretty good. The last battle was a definite superhero movie battle. It dug a little too deep into the X-men mythos for me, I lost it about half way through. I did stay after the credits, that was neat.

As for the Wolverine movie, read below for my take on it. Yeah SPOILER WARNING you ninnies.

DO NOT BE AFRAID. I AM NOW TAPPING INTO MY FORMER COMIC BOOK GEEK SELF, THIS IS NOT A MALL NINJA REBIRTH.:D
If they do a Wolverine movie, they're going to have to remove him from the Marvel universe. Going by the comics, he's met everyone from Captain America to the Thing from the Fantastic Four. He just doesn't remember. As for the movie itself, it's going to need to touch on a couple things.

The comics already revealed Wolverines origins. How he got his powers, how he became Wolverine with the metal etc. A lot of blank spots though. What I know, which is pretty much nil compared to real hardcore comics fans, is that Wolverine had two really big events in his life time. First, he was part of a government force called Team X, gun toting mutants going after terrorist mutants, and the Weapon X project.

The Team X events took place before he got the adamantium bonded to his bones, he was part of a team that consisted of Sabretooth from the US, some mutant from Germany, and Wolverine from Canada. Creed (Sabretooth), Logan (Wolverine), and whatever the German mutant was. I think that Creed was the leader, and that they went up against some really bad people, including Omega Red, the USSR's version of the Weapon X program. Just for the action packed sequences, I'd like to see this explored in more than a flashback.

One of the best comics I've ever read, Weapon X, is my favorite "Logan" comic book. I've never been a big fan of Wolverine, but I've always been a big fan of Logan, the guy behind the mask. Weapon X shows how Logan became Wolverine. A great graphic novel. Logan overcomes the beast inside him. Just a real neat story. We saw a little bit of that in the first and second X-men movies.

If they don't bring back Sabretooth, I'd be surprised. I used to really be into the X-men comics, grew up on them actually, I think my first ones were the "Brood", ALIENS like creatures that took over all of the X-men. Anyway, I'm guessing that the two stories above is what they'll pull from.
