I mentioned that we brought home a tabby with interesting markings to this forum about one month ago. Well, today, I was flipping through a cat book, and there he was. I'm 99% sure that this is what he is. He looks JUST like the young cat in the very top picture. Enjoy!

Where's the knife content? ;)

So length wise, where's he at??? Battle Mistress, FOAB, NO, FSH? Which busse is his size comprabable too?

Didn't read the info, but cool pics and congrats

That's awesome!

My brother really wanted one of those a little while ago, but they were too expensive.

Walkin' Dude :D , I'm not a cat person (although they seem to think I am  ), but that is one BEAUTIFUL Feline! Thanks for sharing.

Now, if a blade and/or handle came in that pattern.
LOL!
FYI, My wife got him at the humane society. I think we just got uncommonly lucky. He is very playful. For those of you that don't know, these cats, by definition, have wild cat bred into them. ( It's kind of like having a wolf mix if you own a dog) While most breeders will guarantee their cat's temperment, we have no such guarantee. So far he seems outgoing, friendly and playful. I hope that doesn't change. I did find out that they are supposed to get pretty big, and I am very happy about that.
.
Also, I just wanted to add, for completeness sake, that I cannot be 100% sure about the breed identification. It's much harder to tell with cats sometimes.

Is the tip of his tail black?

does he like water?

1) Yes
2) Not sure yet. I tried getting him a little wet last night with warm water to test this, but he seemed pretty unhappy. He likes to drink a lot. BTW, from my investigations, not all of them like water, maybe just most of them. Also his eyes are orange, which does not go along with the breed standard, but I have seen others in a breeder guide with similar colored eyes.

I've been wanting to get a cat but I'm scared that I'll get one of the ones that thinks he's a god and always looks down on you like your a pee-on.

Get a male cat. They make much better pets. BTW, before I owned a cat I felt much the same way, but they are almost always very loving towards their owners.

I'm sure your right in a percentage kind of way. My brother has a male tabby that falls into the other bracket. Him an his fiacee spoil that cat rotten and in return he, in his own way, asks you to football kick him.

Well, there you have it. A spoiled cat will be a spoiled cat. If you give into it's every whim you'll get what you deserve. You don't sound like the kind of person that would do this, so don't worry about it. If you're still concerned, and really want a cool cat, consider buying a Birman or Ragdoll, British-Shorthair or other laid-back breed. And make sure you get a male! Do your homework! Very cool cats. Good luck.
.
Also, I'm sure you've heard of finicky cats, right? Well they aren't born that way, that's for sure. Of course a cat is going to beg you for canned food, but you can't give in. It's really pretty simple, for your sanity and their health.

I've been wanting either a Bengal, Ragdoll, or Maine Coon cat...

Now, just gotta run into one the way you got yours....:D *sigh*

How playful is the cat? More "physical" than typical domestic?

My understanding is that the Bengal breed (mix, really) doesn't get that much bigger than a large domestic - somewhere in the low-to-mid teens (weight-wise).

Dan, he is very playful. Which is good. I'm hoping his activity will help my other 2 cats lose weight. I also read that this is a very smart breed, which I also appreciate.
About the Maine Coon, here in Ohio, it is a very common breed. I see them in the paper all the time for reletively low prices, and I wouldn't even be surprised if I could go to the humane society here and pick one up right now.
HOWEVER, I do not recommend them unless you are able to let them out. It is pretty-well known that these cats get restless and destructive if your not able to let them out once in a while. If you're still seriously interested, maybe we can work something out. email me if you'd like. I think your biggest expense will be shipping. Where are you from? If you live in a warm climate, ownership of them aren't really recommended.
Also, I am very surprised that this cat is probably a bengal. We picked it up when he was 10 weeks. My wife had no idea what he was when she brought him home. She picked him up on a very hot day, and he was the only kitten that actually sat up and payed attention to her,(I think the other cats were just too hot) so I think that says that he is trulely playful in nature.

Both my cats are outdoor cats...they're just getting up in age...and we'd like to have a "smooth transition" to a new pet when they go...(for the kids....ok, for me too :D)

I've had the one cat since I got married (coming up on 10 years).

Sounds like a fun cat - hope all goes well with it. Supposed to be able to teach 'em tricks...

Thats a cool looking cat.. We just got a kitten also about a week ago.. wandered up to the door .. cute lil thing..

That sounds like good advice. I'll look into the cat's that you listed. I will say that they have another cat that is half Maine coon and it is a sweet cat. She's small in size but boy can she jump high. A little on the skidish side but very precious.
