Holy Crap!!!!! The Whirlybird Attack!

It looks like a BATAC SE to me but I've been drinking. That grind would certainly remove any doubts about the strength of the blade tip but 'Daim' what do you plan to penetrate? Does it have an Iridium core? Then I might get a hint as to what you are going after. Reminds me a little bit of the 'Shark's tooth' tip on the Covert folder.

That blade reminds me of this beast from BadMoJo:

I think it is called the "Triple Grind"

I like the concept. I might angle the rear talon hole/pomel a bit further back, just to cut down on the pinkie pinch.

What are the advantages of the angled tip versus a continuous smooth grind? The BATACs are pretty thick already, so I'm not sure it needs to be much stronger. Pardon the ignorance - I'm curious.

I really just dug this up from looking at the canopies on the choppers. Strong thick tip with an angled down double swedge (spey) - could aid direct penetration into the canopy seal if need be. Big a$$ rounded pommel to palm and pry with. With flight gloves, I tried the thumb grooves on a CRK Mountaineer and it was as if they were not there, so the larger ones should soak up the glove better.

I agree on the pomell, it needs to be thinned or stretched out a bit to relieve possible pinch. Need to maintain that big pommel however.

This in a 5" 3/16" or even 1/4" blade would be awesome. Like I said in the other thread, nylon sheath to hold a G2 or similar that can be used while sitting and stil in sheath to read leg pad info etc.

Bring it!

yes! Thanks to Ken for his readily available photos which are awesome!

His site is the grail... :)
