Holy Moses!

That Damned cured apple wood is the hardest wood to baton thru!!!! It never pops. Its like a nylok nut it fights ya till the end.
I love Apple wood for smoking pork bellies for bacon, and also for knife handles. We have a mold apple orchard in Maine, and we harvest and cure some wood for that. It can be very beautiful when stabilized, and we send some to K & G to be dyed. Especially curly grain areas. The smell is very nice.
 
I was beating up on that cedar tree laying on the ground before I batoned that cured apple wood. That 29 Is no joke for realzys chopper!!!
Good deal man, glad you like it. I almost bought a BK5 earlier, just because it was a good deal. I passed on it though. I sold two of them.

You just didn't feel the love for the 5 aye. Blade edge length to weight ratio is off the chart with the Bk5

I like it, it's a good knife, but again, not a BK9, haha. Someone else got it, but it was $45 shipped, brand spankin new.
 
Alrighty then Guyon Guyon you got me!!!! I brought my 29 to work with me, convexed the edge.Then I preceded to beat thd hell out of a dead hard oak limb in the woods behind my building. WOW!!!! I'm sold. My 9 might stay in its sheath for awhile.
