I've had one for about a year and the lock bar is getting a little wiggly, but not problematic. It's holding up really well, considering subjecting it to a lot of shock with the kind of use it sees.
I usually carry it in my pocket when I'm in the bush and use it to prune the trail corridor. I've chopped down some fairly thick, (up to 2" dia) Scotch Broom plants which are really fibrous and tough. It doesn't bind and it bites deep.
The handle design allows for a firm grip at the end, extending your reach and pointing the tip further down like a khukuri for good shearing action whilst chopping stuff.
It's flat ground and the blade is very thick. It is very sharp and easy to resharpen, but doesn't have a thin edge profile so it's a little unwieldy for fine little jobs.
The S30V is an excellent steel, and I'm not sure why anyone would have a problem with it. I have several using knives made with the stuff and I find it to be great.
I wouldn't carry it as any every day using knife, it's too big and does not forgive clumsy moves as the blade carries much momentum. It's unwieldy due to its weight and length.
The pocket clip is effective, and the knife is comfortable to carry around in your pocket.
