Had it in the 5th grade so that makes it at least 20 years old now as I'm 31. Minor surface rust, not bad shape at all.

Now I need to find a BSA one to go with it.

i have one of those too. Don't know how or where or when I got it. I was never in the Scouts.

Its cool that you came across it again!

Wow. I had mine in a box with my BSA one and about 20 other pocket knives. They were in my dorm room at college, and then they weren't. Kind of makes me sad.

Nice find.

Ha! I'm also 31 and had the same experience rediscovering mine while visiting my folks earlier this year. That was my first "real" knife, and I remember being terrified I was going to take off a finger trying to figure out how to use the locks. They're definitely nice little Camillus knives.

I almost had one when I made Wolf Scout... but I decided I wanted a Victorinox Tinker instead. :grumpy:

I did have the tinker up until I was 14, but man, those glossy red plastic scales could not hold up.

and so it begins....

I had one of those too. Not sure if it is hiding or if I lost it in my house fire in 84

Great find! :) It´s great to find old, long (thought) lost items in drawers and boxes, isn´t it?

Excuse my ignorance: But it is not a BSA knife, which knife is it then? Just a Scout Knife or from another organization?
(I know what BSA is, like Pfadfinder in Germany, but which other organization were there around, too?)

Did you go to college with C.Helm?

Cub Scouts and Webilos (or however you spell it) are Jr. Versions of Boy Scouts (they are also BSA) for me, though BSA is the older scouting. Sorry for the confusion.

Pretty much. Webelos are the bridge from Cub Scouts to Boy Scouts. They are all under the same banner of BSA which is Boy Scouts of America with the national office being based in Irving, Texas.

You're not required to have completed Tiger, Cub, or Webelos before going into "Boy Scouts" which is great because it invites the potential for a broader range of children from all different social classes, schools etc.

Thanks for the replies, fellows! This really helps to get into the different sections of Scout organisations :)

It´s also great, that every section seems to have their own knives with their own logos.

I picked up a First Edition copy of Morley Adams' Camping & Pioneering for Scouts (1915) yesterday :)

Cool knife Chris. Finding things from ones past is always cool. Especially if it is a cool knife!
Jack, please post a pic of that Morley.
