Holy smoke look what I found in my drawer!

I recently found my Ulster BSA knife I had in scouts 30 years ago. I thought is was lost for the last 10 years and then I found it in my wifes car survival coffe can. It was like a found $100 in there I was so excited.

Still have mine. I remember picking it out in the local Department store that had scout stuff in the children's section in the basement. Late '70s - early '80's.

Loved the Scouts growing up. Dropped out early into the Boy Scouts, though. Only one troop in town and the Scoutmaster was a jerk. Most of us quit the same year.

Been carrying the knife a lot recently. I love it, but I am also scared of losing it.

Be glad your scout master was only a jerk! I never made it to Boy Scouts, but it turns out that the scout masters (twin brothers) one of their sons, and their nephew were molesting many of the boys. The brothers are in prison for life and the son and nephew did a few years in the federal Pen.

The scoutmaster before the current one arrived being a jerk was the reason I stopped being a leader at 25 years old. We had the troop run by the older boys and any real problems were handled by us. They taught the younger kids and all was well. This guy came in and started telling some of us leaders who had been there what to do and what kind of voluntary training he though we should all be taking and even signed me up for one without permission from me. Under him 3 boys made Eagle...his son and their two best friends. With the scoutmaster I was a leader with, we had 7. One of those boys went to West Point.

Had it in the 5th grade so that makes it at least 20 years old now as I'm 31. Minor surface rust, not bad shape at all.

Now I need to find a BSA one to go with it.

Might be able to help with that. Should be the Tenderfoot shield, likely stainless... let me look through my collection. We might be able to arrange a trade. :)
