Awhile ago I asked for your advice on home defense weapons. We had trouble with someone breaking in our house. I was able to chase him away w/ 2 big Busse's,but he didn't have a gun and I didn't either. Not wanting to get caught like that again,I asked your advice about home defense weapons and a lot of you kindly responded w/ some great advice. The pix you will see are the result. It has become even more important because, since then,my neighbor about quarter mile away, had his house broken into. The guy tied his wife up and shot and killed him. Anyway, now I have a 12Ga Benelli Super Nova shotgun w/ an 18.5" barrel and a Pelican LED. Also ordered a 24" spare barrel so I can use it for other purposes. My brother loaned me his Glock
17L for my wife and I to learn w/ since I'd never shot a handgun only shotguns and rifles. We'll buy our own when we get more proficient. It's been a real learning experience for us and you have been a giant help.
As a side note, all this has helped my brother and I get back together. He's 14 yrs. older and we never really got along.I never knew that he was an avid target shooter until now. He's got a walk in vault full of handguns, rifles and you name it. So that's a good thing. Thanks again guys.

Very nice choice!!!!
I'm sorry to hear about the distant neighbor. Sad story.

Lunde, that is a BEAUTY 870!!!!

That's a WAWP 870 (Wilson Arms Witness Protection 870) that was made by Wilson Arms in the late 1980s. It was manufactured from a Remington 870, and is classified as an AOW (Any Other Weapon). My Form 4 was approved in early 1988, and I am the original/only owner.

love that benelli. Might I suggest a pistol grip (m4 style) stock for it. That way it can be adjusted to fit you, your wife, and anyone else who may end up using it. Plus its a bit more comfortable than the OEM stock.

Having the hardware is an important step. Knowing how and when to use it is also vital. And to do that, it is best to seek specific training and practice. Find the local version of Gunsite or Thunder Ranch.

Hopefully you'll never need it.

Btw where'd you pick up that light mount? Been looking for something similar for my 870.

Got it on Feebay---made by ATI &called a Shoygun Magazine clamp--supposed to fit all 12Ga-cost $10.9search shotgun magazine clamp.

We have an instructor at a range--going to some kind of a 5 day instructional near Las Vegas w/ my brother. Thinking about getting the pistol grip. My wife is learning to shoot the Glock. BTW Mr. Lunde---that's a nasty weapon.

I have a Benelli Supernova Tactical 12ga. with a mag extension that serves as my HD shotty, absolutely love it.

Yep, if you got a .45 auto and a pump scattergun you've got the bases covered. Oh, yeah, get some ammo!
