I have been around the house a lot more lately as I am sure many are these days. When I go out in public I carry my Tinker and Rambler combo but around the house I carry my Super Tinker because I don't like carrying my keys in the house everywhere and I like having a scissors on me.

What is your guys Home EDC?

I realized, being stuck at home, I need scissors a lot, and nail file and cleaner, so any number of models with those. Ranger is great for home things. I just got an Explorer, and it is awesome. It varies, I guess.

I made an apprentice at the beginning of the pandemic and it’s been in my pocket for nearly nine months now. The combo tool and blade are all I find myself needing on a regular basis. I’m at home, easy to grab a scissors or tools if I need them. Besides, it’s fun to EDC your DIY!

Considering I have real tools at home, the only thing in my pocket is (and for the last year or so) is the Executive and before that, the Ambassador and before that, the Classic. I still don't use the orange peeler but the file on the Executive is about perfect compared to the files on the other two. I use these knives mostly for nail grooming, opening mail and packages, and the scissors to cut stuff (like loose threads on a garment). I've been carrying one of these for about 45 years or more (most of the time it was the Classic until I learned about these larger 74mm knives). On my nightstand at bedtime and in my pocket when I'm up and dressed whether I'm at home or going out (when out and about, I also normally, these days, have a Bugout as well. I have other SAKs stowed in my vehicle glove boxes along with a Leatherman.

I have a small Maxpedition organizer that stays tucked in the pocket of my recliner for quick access if I need a light, bandaid or whatever, and I keep a Deluxe Tinker in it. It has saved me from having to get in a toolbox for a simple fix many times.

If I'm going to town, I carry my Explorer. Otherwise at home it's a Bantam or one of my 2 layer SAKs.
Then I carry 2-3 other knives. I have downsized from 110/112 to slipjoints and smaller lockbacks .

I recently realized that I don’t need a multi tool during the week (after carrying one for the last year)so I’m carrying a small traditional to work during the week. On the weekend when I’m home I carry my small tinker and my new Knipex Cobra XS pliers which I’m enjoying very much.

For me I just have my EDC that's there regardless, then I add a full sized multitool and small tool pouch to my belt when I'm at work.

The knife or knives I've chosen for the week are subject to change, but theres always one of 5 classics and the Sebertool m4. Occasionally I go back to my squirt.

My home EDC is the same as any other time. I get up in the morning and get dressed, and all my regular stuff is on me. Never changes, always a small SAK like the executive and the Leatherman squirt in one pocket and small handgun in other pocket. I've never been one to hang around the house in PJ's or sweats. If I'm up, my pants are on and I'm equipped.

Same for me.
If I'm out of bed my hats on my head as I like to say.
Every once in a while if I'm home sick I may cut back to just my pocket knife, but the Buck stops there.

I live in an urban environment and would always have a SAK 91mm Mountaineer close by. The openers and blades are pretty standard on most 91mm, the scissors is great, but the metal file/saw does come in handy when you need it.

When I first started to carry the Leatherman squirt, the metal file was the last tool I ever thought I'd ever use. I started to carry it for the small pliers and drivers. But like a lot of things, I was wrong. I've actually used the file enough that I wold miss it if it broke or wasn't there.

Like you, I live in a mostly urban environment, with visits to the woods and river. A small SAK or multitool is invaluable.
