Home for the Holidays

Godbless your Grandpa. Prayers of comfort for you and the rest of the family. Nice touch with the knife.

My condolences as well! Even though I had my own grandfather for 43 years of my life I to got close to my wife's grandfather also a WWII veteran. It was like his own grand children except one or two including my wife never got close to him. A little over a year after we got married we went to Ft. Worth to spend a week with him, his dear wife died just before we were married a year earlier. I thought after learning of this vacation(oh man this is going to suck)! It ended up being the 2nd best vacation and I'm not sure the best ever! Every mourning he would get up with the chickens and have hot coffee, TX home made buttermilk biscuits which he taught me to make and steak & Gravy all ready to eat. In the evening we would go through his piles of "Gun & Ammo" and talk guns over coffee. He would show off his guns like the WWII Colt .45ACP revolver he brung back from the war. I miss that man as much as my own dear grandfather! Every American needs to at least one time in there life go to a military funeral(just my humble openion)!

I'm very sorry for your loss. I lost my mother-in-law back in December before Christmas and she was my wife and I's last living parent. I know how hard it is on you. You did a good thing remembering your grandpa that way with the little Schrade. I pray blessings and comfort for you and your family. - Ed J
