I'm working on my first sword,it's about 2 inches long I'm just getting a feel for the grinder and I was wondering if I can use a propane torch to give my toothpic any extra added strength? its made from a piece of steel patio furniture i chopped up.

You can do a rough heat treating of small objects by using, what I think is Don Fogg's "mini" forge. It's just a soft kiln brick with a large hole drilled long ways of the brick and a smaller hole for the propane torch head.
The real problem is that you probally have a mild steel that doesn't have enough carbon to treat effectively, unless you use "super quinch".
Hope that helps, Lynn
