Hello everybody, Julian from J's Knives-N-More here with a little bit of a fun do-it-yourself project.
For you beer drinkers out there, this will be easy to obtain the materials needed. For those of you who are under 21 there are glass bottled cokes, sunkists, 7ups, etc.... which can be used as well.
1. Get two of your favorite bottled drinks.
2. Drink both bottled drinks until satisfied
3. Chunk the bottles 'cause all you needed were the caps
4. Using a pair of pliers or just a flat hard surface, attempt to bend one of the bottle caps grooved edges inwards like a little bowl.
5. Place the cap that has been bent inwards into the other cap.
6. Using the same pliers or hard surface, make a tight seal between the two caps.
7. Get a pointy object - knife or awl on a SAK
8. Use the pointy object to create a center hole and about 4 holes around the edges of the bottle cap (same side as the center hole).
9. Take a look at your mini-burner and notice that the holes should all be on the same side and it should have a nice tight seal.
10. Gather some fuel (I used everclear that has been dormant in my shelf for quite some time).
Now, you can get creative with the ways you plan on keeping fuel on you, but I discovered that a contact case full of fuel is good for 2-3 fill ups and is perfect for EDC carry. One fill up is good for about 1 minute of burn time which would be great to get a fire going without worrying about the wind blowing it out or other various things that put out fires quickly. Here's a few pics of mine when lit up and completed:
Please excuse the pots and pans, I made this after work this morning/last night (I work nights) so the dishes were still there
I hope some of you find this as a fun little project, take care, J.
