Home made Mycarta question

Hey guys and gals- just had a question. Have any of you that make your own ever set the knife within the layers as you are making the stuff. That way the mycarta could flow into filing on the tang and one would not have any gap problems be it full tang or hidden tang?

how would you finish the front of the handle with the blade attached ?

Not that I would do it, but you could still finish up the front with careful use of a dremel.

I would worry about not getting a tight fit of your handle material to your tang and having uneven epoxy lines when you take it out of the press.

ok i guess you coulf grind out the front of the bolster like that

i had thoughts of using "tang blanks" in a batch i made so i didnt have to drill the handle but never ended up tring it out
