Did you heat treat the blade yourself?

Only a short summary, cause my wifes car needs some care (DON´T BUY A FIAT!!!):

- The heat treating was made by Juergen Schanz
- the knife holds the edge I guess 20 times as long as 1095 but needs more time to resharpen, I really like the steel! (1095 has got other benefits...)
- I´m veterinarian treating bovine/ovine
