Home Protection - Wild Thing, Pug, or.....

I dont know about you guys but i think it is a lot easier to pull the trigger than to gouge someone. I have experience with both from my days in nam . Not to say either was easy to do but a trigger is definitely easier. Always do have a knife though, in case the gun jams or runs out of ammo.

I would pick the Pug, although my personal, home carry knife is the Polkowski Scorpion.

I have had it for almost a year now and I could not be happier with it. The Kydex IWB sheath is extremely comfortable. That is very important. As the saying goes "if it's not comfortable you won't carry it." I carry my Scorpion daily.

The slim handle is perfect for concealment. My Scorpion disappears under a T shirt. The handle is also very secure. I have performed extensive impact training with the Kasper handle and it has shown itself to be very secure. I never have to adjust my grip even after extended training.

I have no problem quickly accessing the knife from its sheath. My hand locks into the grip immediately during the draw.

I agree that if you like to go from forward to reverse grip then the palm swell is not as secure as with a flat handle. The Kasper handles are primarily designed with the forward grip in mind.

I also did need to touch up my Scorpion's edge, but now it's razor sharp. Al P. posted here a while back that he was modifiying his grind angle to improve on this.

EDGES2 is now offering a very realistic aluminum training knife for the Scorpion.

Right now I have a Pug (dog) at my feet and a 45ACP Colt on my desk. Well, it works for me.
