Home Protection

Well, there is no doubt that coyotes can be troublesome and in many states they are considered pests and have open season all year. I think the problem here is that hunters typically turn their game so the worst of the shot isn't exposed in a photograph...that’s just hunter's etiquette and respect for a wild creature despite their "pest-nature". You'll see several squirrel kills here on the forums, but the correct actions are to avoid exposing the worst damage made by the shot when sharing the picture (of course it isn’t always possible, but should be attempted). This goes a long way towards minimizing the negative reputations for all hunters.

That was well stated Rock6....

Dennis, this was what I was trying to get at in my post. I wasn't trying to say that you shouldn't cull a pest and I accept your rationale for doing so. However, this is the internet and you know how pictures like the one you posted get grabbed by the wrong audience and used as negative publicity to support anti-gun and anti-hunting activities. I don't fall in either of those camps.

Dead is dead.

I thought it was cool. Opened him up like a can of tomato soup!

Next time post the word "graphic" so the squeemish don't whine.
