Home remedy patina removal ?

Mother's Mag Aluminum polish is the best polish I have used by far. MAAS, Semichrome, Never Dull, Flitz.....all these are good....and I believe all of these are actually a bit finer than the Mother's Mag Aluminum Polish. If I could choose only one and live with it forever, the Mother's Mag Aluminum.

Some patinas may be a little stubborn for polishing creams. In those cases, Bar Keeper's Friend is a superb product. It is like Comet or Ajax, but it's a little finer. Wet blade, sprinkle the BKF on top, scrub, rinse. Result is a nice hazy matte look. For a brighter finish, use your metal polish of choice afterwards.

Since you guys are screwing with your knives and "patina-ing" them, I guess it doesn't matter but- using a 300 grit "rust eraser" will ruin a factory blade finish.

Turns out that the blade does have a few scratches, but the patina is light enough that it's almost nonexistent .
Though I didn't need to worry this time, at least I got some good info for next time.
