Wow, I am definitely impressed and inspired. I suspect that almost everyone here is here because they love to be capable -- that's why we all love knives! And when you can make gear that nice, well, you're pretty darn capable. Good work!

Thanks Akjon. I know it may look like a big deal, but it's really not that difficult. Once you get the basics (witch is mainly mastering the sewing machine ), it's only a matter of thinking about what you are doing.
I first started with my mother and we made a Polartec 200 top together. It turned pretty good (my mother sews since she's a teen). Then I made myself some simple Polartec Powerdry tops (the stuff Patagonia calls Capilene and sells you $$$ :footinmou Mines costed less than a fifth of the price they are sold here). Then some Softshell jackets (my Schoeller WB400 jacket costed me about 70 to make, similar "branded" jackets cost around 300-350 here). Now the pants.
I'm right with you, I think everyone here could do the same. A good sewing machine will last you a lifetime, just choose wisely. It's really a damned good invesment.
