Homemade Pants for my RC-3mil

Very nice TrailWolf, you have convinced me to give it a try!
Could you list a complete beginners material/tool list to get started? I looked at knifekits and am not sure on what size rivets, kydex thickness, stuff like that.
I would like to get enough for a few holsters and sheaths and figured it would be less expensive buying the materials/parts instead of just a few sheath kits.

I have basic tools, Dremel and drill press.
Thanks.

I'm not Trailwolf but I'll answer and he can chime in too.

I like .08 kydex and 8-8 rivets. It's the middle thickness and seems to work well for just about everything given the right pressures.

Get yourself a few good 1/4" pilot point bits for your rivet holes.

For a press, to start out, I used a few peices of plywood with foam glued on and I just stood on the top one for awhile.

If you don't have a bandsaw, a decent hand coping saw with a nice thin blade will save you alot of sanding time with the dremel.

A few, various grits of sandpaper and some scotchbrite to finish your edges and your in good shape.

If you know some one with a bead blaster you can very lightly blast kydex before you rivet it and it will get rid of all those marks, no blaster then use a scotchbright pad and scuff it in circles, a bit of wax or polish and it's all good. Make shure you blow or wash out all the grity bits before you rivet it up.
