Honestly, do you edc a fixed blade?

On my person...no,only in the woods away from people.
This weekend it was my Rule #9 & it rode in one of the side pockets of my Carharts & a little shoulder bag I use for wandering around.
I always have 2 folders in pocket though,a Vic Rambler & Kershaw Shallot.

Yep, everyday. Either in one of my pockets, or as a necker. Along with a ZT0560 and a Victorinox Farmer.

Until I retired and junked the suit/shiny shoes and briefcase, I used to carry a CS Tanto in my briefcase. Easy to access, and no one ever noticed. When I carry a FB now I generally put on my belt and slip the end of the sheath into my right hip pocket. With an un-bloused shirt or jacket it's unnoticeable.

Thanks for all the responses guys. I think for me it's going to be a situational carry and not an edc. When I'm out in the woods, or around the house, at a BBQ, that's all good. I just can't see myself carrying this on my hip into a grocery store or restaurant. I tried carrying it the other day without the techlock in my front pocket with just the kydex sheath. I just found it to be too much bulk in the pocket. There are occasions where I work in some pretty bad parts of Chicago and I will definitely have this in my pocket with me

I EDC a small 3" or so fixed blade (usually a Busse SAR-3 or Game Warden, a Fiddleback Hiking Buddy, or a smaller JK Kehart, nothing black or tactical-looking) and a Vic Huntsman or Safari without any issues - most of my coworkers are retired military folks and understand the difference between a tool and a weapon. Regularly use it to cut and share apples, cheese, salami, that convinces everyone else pretty quickly.

I prefer smaller fixed blades which I can back pocket carry. And I do.

I do. There's a Becker 14 around my neck or in the back pocket, along with a SAK in the coin pocket. I doubt it gets noticed by many.

I often pocket carry EDC...as I do my handguns. Although open carry is allowed, I prefer to keep my stuff out of sight.

For example...

Love the black and red.

I edc a brk Psk while at work. When off its either the same or a brumby lite in a pocket sheath like the one above or a mark Andrews on my belt

I carry a Bark River Journeyman as my EDC. Not usually on my belt but in my cooler/work bag. I need one of those KSF pocket sheathes. I also like the Fiddleback hiking buddy, and BM mini grip.

Wow Nasty, those are two really pretty Bark River red handled knives! Those two make me kind of jellous! That makes a real pretty handle! It doesn't look like you have ever layed a hand on them! Nice!

Take care,

Yes, I carry a fixed blade every day concealed with a shirt over it.

Easy with the right blade/sheath

Alright, here's a little follow up story.
I'm at a baby shower yesterday. I know, I know, I know. I wasn't happy about it either but my wife really need help(she was the one throwing it), it's the first grandchild in our family and afterall it was for MY sister. Like I said I wasn't super thrilled to go but it really wasn't to bad once the setup was over because this was at a restaurant which thank God had a bar with a flatscreen in the next room where I saw my beloved Bears pummel the Colts :)

So I ask myself, how do I go to a baby shower and still retain any shred of manhood? I edc'd my JK fixed blade! Wish I was smart enough to take some pics. Mqqn always does some nice random knife pics. There was some cordage to be cut and fishing line for when I hung the streamers.

Later my sister is opening gifts in front of 25 other women. One box in particular was well taped. She turns to me and says those five magical words we all live to hear, "do you have a knife?" it was a cool moment when I grabbed my edc anniversary and handed it to her. Not one person in the crowd flinched. No big deal.

To sum it up, I was able to keep my man card and I learned something about my fixed blade. If it is presented in a non threatening way the sheeple will be fine. I dare to say I got many less looks with this than I would've had I quickly whipped out my manual action Skyline. It was cool.

Well done, JJ!

I love it around Christmas time - that's when you get to pull out your knife and use it in front of the family.

Again - well done! Now where's the random pic?? ;^)

BTW - watch the sale thread for Hanna, I have two very nice anniversary EDC's coming up for sale for Hanna.

best
