A fine knife by Honore' Durand, it has been rehandled with bovine horn, with nice pin-work on the mark side. The knife features the traditional "Bee" on the backspring, with graceful incised work along the spring.The fit and finish are excellent, along with the walk and talk;
a worthy representative of France!!! And it was a gift from a fine friend in Paris - all the sweeter to own!! Thank You!!

You'll think of something, PJ (Vince?)! You must have one!!:eek:
Yes, it's Vince, Charlie. "Prester John" is just a username I picked almost at random. Looked like people weren't using real names (e.g., 5K Qs, Misplaced Hillbilly, Cutfinger, etc.). Didn't know "Jack Black" was his real name!

October. But I already had stuff lined up for that and Christmas!

Lol...so goes the life of a knife nut. I'm the same way, which is why I'm always perplexed by those who end up culling the herd. Even if I tried, I'd still get knives for birthday, Christmas, and Father's Day presents. Better those than socks and ties...hahaha.

With your avatar I would have thought you'd choose Sean Thornton for your username.

I chose the name first. The first avatar, after I got a paid membership, was an old picture of the legendary Prester John. Then I switched to John Wayne for a brief period (with cowboy hat and gun), before settling on the current one. But I've been using the same username since I joined over a year ago, and don't feel like changing it at this point. And I like the avatar with John Wayne and Maureen O'Hara just before he picks a fight with Victor McGlaughlin.

Very nice knife and idea! bravo.gif

Very nice! My very first pocket knife that wasn't a keychain SAK was a Laguiole from Honore Durand. It is the knife that started it all for me in this hobby. I still own it and it pretty much serves as my usual steak knife these days.IMG_20161025_174428~01~01.jpg
