Hoods Woods Vol. 10 LBE vest

Does anyone know what LBE vest Ron Hood uses in Volume 10? If so, where can I find one? Thanks in advance.

Response 1: It looks like a slightly modified vest from D&S Enterprises. He has switched to a Blackhawk Vest (D.O.A.V.).

Response 2: He (Ron) said it was custom made.

It was a custom made one from a guy in Washington I believe. I one time had the phone # for him but it took multiple tries to get ahold of him. He was quite nice when I did talk to him and if I remember it was about a $250 vest. I have since gone back to the fanny/belt pack thing. akraven

Akraven, Do you remember if it was Tactical Tailor near Tacoma, WA maybe? They do custom work and seem to have a good reputation for durability locally.

The vest wasn't from tactical tailor but from a private guy. I could probably find the phone number if you give me a few days to hunt it up. I have had the D&S vest also and was quite impressed with the quality of the construction. I didn't keep it because I decided that vest were just not for me. I prefer a fanny pack/belt kit. The only minor warning I would offer is the holster they say is on the inside is a pretty general fit and I ended up losing a pistol out of it in the backcountry here in Alaska. akraven
