Hook on Swiss army knife?

I was just wondering what use does the hook on the swiss army knives serve. I have a new Huntsman and just wanted to find out what you use it for?

You can use the multi purpose hook for differnt things.
opening cans with flaps
pull out camping hooks
carry stringed parcels
lift hot grill

ps I use one for lifting hot pan lids and that was about it.
