I hear ya. I have another Mike Alsdorf on the way, as well as a Bill Vining that will be on it's way after pay day on Thurs.

There IS no help for either of us!!!! :D

I really am going to stop now. Really, I am.

Or I could sell some of my non-slippies.... :D

Got my Case and my GEC today.

First GEC! Its a Tidioute Tractor Green Barlow. Wow, this is a nice knife! I can't stop playing with it. :D :D :D

This was a good week for me and slippies. I got my Case swayback jack in red stag- which is gorgeous. And the real coup- my circa 1991 Remington Model 1128 small bullet trapper arrived today- new, in box. And I picked it up on the cheap. I'll never tell where I got it. :foot: I found a treasure trove that I need to plunder further!

Speaking of "treasure troves to plunder further"! ;)

Has anyone ever considered getting rid of their safe queens and replace them with every day users? Or just changing their mind from one pattern to another? I've thought of the first, but my collection is a hodgebodge of a bunch of different patterns.I don't have a congress though....I'v always wanted a congress.

I don't have any safe queens - in any of my knives. I don't buy real expensive stuff (I guess "expensive" depends on the person, though). But I like to use/carry what I have or at least intend to.

A few of the older butterbeans I have bought may never be carried because I will carry others first.

I just bought a very nice 1980 Case stag that I will carry some. It won't get a lot of use, but sometimes I just like to carry something like that - nice to have in your pocket.

The Tidoute Barlow will probably become a regular carry item! :D

I recently decided that I LOVE slip joints!!!

TKC - once you slip into slipjoints, you won't slip back. Welcome to the 'regular'* fold.

*(I attended a Bluegrass Festival many moons ago, and the largest fan there, and he was large, had a t-shirt that said it all...."Bluegrass Makes You Regular". It applies here, also. "Slipjoints Make You Regular". Bring on the t-shirts! ;))

I see your point TX907.99.9 percent of my stuff has had use so it is nice just to carry it.I threw my NYK in my pocket a few weeks ago.You just know the steel on that knife was meant to be used.I saw that Case I think on one of your threads and yes, I would be carrying that one.Thats what I mean about everyday users., i guess.
I have a beauty of a scout with a broken blade that sees some pocket carry, athought it's a bit large. I closed the can opener and a chip flew of the bone. Almost all of the scouts you see they have that chip broken off I think. Here it is before the break. It's like a brand new knife. I keep telling myself to search for a blade and have it repaired, but the new "spey" blade is handy and not bad looking.;)

Must .... try .... to .... focus ....

After getting a hankering for some slippies, I thought the baby butterbeans were a nice collectible shape. Now I have 10.

Bought the '79 Case at a show - thought the stag looked nice. Hmmm, I kinda like this stag thing. Now I have a '80 Case in stag and yesterday bought a new swayback jack in red stag.

And I picked up a Case canoe from someone on this site, and a GEC green bone barlow, just because I liked 'em.

Once again - focus!!! :D

Yes, I know. Normally I'm happy to share, but if I point this out, it will be gone. There are a couple sweet deals there that I'd like to capitalize on when I get paid again. I'll be happy to share the link once I buy up the good stuff. :D

And yes, yes it is the 'Bay (lying). :p
