My Bing-fu/Google-fu is lacking.
I was able to identify the pattern of my axe, but that is about it.
I cannot find any specifics on the "Hoosier" pattern Axe.
Y'all be the experts, so I'll ask here.
Since a "Hoosier" is Indiana, did the pattern originate there, like the "Michigan" pattern originated in Michigan?
(and why did/does Michigan and its neighbors, Ohio and Indiana each need their own axe pattern?!)
Is/Was the Hoosier pattern intended mainly for hardwood or soft wood?
Is the Hoosier pattern a "General Purpose" or a "Specialty" pattern?
If a specialty pattern, what was/is it mainly intended/used for?
Felling? Splitting? Something else?
Sorry about my lack of knowledge concerning axes and related tools.
