Up for sale here my small JOE HOOVER liner lock with carbon fiber scales & now - a polished blade .

This is lightly used as an in house only - mostly used as letter opener and tape cutter.

It is sharper than new.

PLEASE NOTE - I have created a polished finish on the blade. I will not say that the finish is perfect. Don't really know what perfect is in this case as it seems to be a moving target :). Suffice to say that is has great reflection but not without a faint but nicely consistent scratch pattern (along the length of the blade) - no stray scratches marring the surface. The reflection is good. Still, if you are OCD about perfection this one is not a knife for you.

The thumb ramp on the spines is NOT POLISHED - rather it is scuffed with a diamond file to provide a bit of resistance (see this in the centering photo below).

THESE ARE THE ORIGINAL SPECS FROM JOE

• Closed- 3 5/8 inches
• Open- 6 1/2 inches
• Blade- just shy of 3 inches
• Steel- AEB-L
• Finish- stonewashed - NOW - polished
• Frame- 440c stainless
• Finish- File worked spine with frosted finish
• Scales- Carbon Fiber
• Back Spacer- Floated carved carbon fiber
• Clip- RH tip up custom made polished titanium deep carry
• Thumbstud- Dual polished Titanium

"Solid edc folder with early solid lock up and centered blade (this was not accurate - see photo in original thread and mine below). It opens easily riding on caged bearings. Stainless frame was heat treated for added corrosion resistance. Closes easily with no lock bar stick. All components for this knife with the exception of the caged bearings, screws, and pivot were crafted by hand in my shop. My makers mark is on the frame of this knife. The scale on the lock side has to be removed before it is visible."

All holds true to this day. I have cared for this knife and used it sparingly.

Here is the original sale thread - please note the CENTERING photo - the knife came this way - http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/showthread.php/1332038-Locking-Liner-EDC-SOLD

CENTERING - as shown here and in the original thread is a bit off. I'm sure you could send to Joe for a tweak.

A bit more about the blade finish. I am trying to provide full and accurate info but at the same time don't want to diminish how good the mirror finish actually looks in hand.

SO -

NICE MIRROR -

THE EVEN SCRATCH PATTERN I try to describe is very faint - mostly just a constant haze. Here is a photo attempt to illustrate -

PROCESS -

Up through wet and dry grits, finishing with 2000, then hand polish with 4 micron diamond paste, finally hand polish with Mothers Mag & Aluminum Polish. Cleaned with soap water followed with windex. Micro fiber cloth keeps it shiny.

TOO FUSSY?

If this finish is to fussy or precious for your taste easy enough to dull it down with use or more aggressive effort.

CONCLUSION -

This is very nice custom made liner lock by a Blade Forum maker with an long standing excellent reputation. Modifications by the owner notwithstanding - the value is all there.

I'm highly interested, I'd love if you could give me 36 hours of thought time ^

I appreciate your interest but my interest is to sell so - it will be what it will be.

HOUSE PROTOCOL Usually - most always - the first to say "I'll Take It" wins (followed by quick payment of course).

Any further questions please e-mail to me at - dustyjunco at gmail dot com - placing the @ and the dot symbol where appropriate.

OR - using the dustyjunco email address send the money via Pay Pal and it's yours - ON THE CONDITION that you live in the US - otherwise we need to discuss additional S&H costs.

AND THEN - post below that you have done so.
