Hope this doesn't offend anybody...

That's a big one. I second (third? fourth?) the idea of having a sheath made from it.

Good job! I don't mess around with poisonous snakes either. If you didn't take care of him, and someone got bit, how would you feel then, right?

I would have done the same.

I'm on the bandwagon for makin' a sheath or two out of that sucker. :D

.

I'm not offended but wonder woman might be:

I have a tattoo of a Copperhead on my chest. I love those snakes, and I think they're beautiful. On the other hand, I've had to kill quite a few myself, while living in Mississippi. I've killed way more Cottonmouth though.
Nice pics and Thanks for sharing.

Pitty he had to die, big one too.
Had to do same with a couple of Death Adders around my place many years ago, but learned that the Death Adder doesn't move fast and rather curls up to attack when threatend.
From then on it was shovel and bucket and take to the bush and let go free again.

Copperheads don't taste ver good.....rattlers are very tasty though.

Poisonous snakes shoud die in mt opinion. Non-poisonous snakes are good, and I relocate them if they come too close.

On a side note, I found a snake once, and since I've caught snakes since I was a kid, and owned a few as pets, I caught this one to admire it. It was one of the prettiest snkes I had seen, so I let him go after holding him a while.
Ironically, the next week, my nephew had a b-day party at a nature center, and lo-and-behold, they had an identical snake......a Copperhead!

I want that skin!!!!!

XAMAN! We need to talk, did you keep the skins? If not you tossed out a good chunk of change or leather if you get my drift.

I do snake skins! Rattlers, Copperheads, Cotton mouths, etc etc!!!! :D

PLEEEEEEASE dont throw em away!

To anyone reasonably close to me and kills a few snakes every summer, lemme have em! I'll make it worth it. :)

Great pics

They don’t look anything like our Copperheads, ours are a solid color all over. Any venomous snakes that I catch up with in our house paddock usually get a round of nines from a 12 gauge. :D

We mostly get red belly blacks, Eastern Browns and a few Copperheads. The Eastern Browns are by far the most aggressive and deadly around here.
Ian.

Way to go Dwayne. With an offer of some of your fine leather, there won't be a safe place for any snake!! I can't imagine what you could do with nice snakeskin.

How about an email with some pix. I've got a Busse Steakknife that would look even better riding in one of your sheaths with a skin inlay.

Thanks
