Hoping to rehandle a Condor Bushlore - total beginner.

This would be my first project like this and wanted to get some advice.
Im comfortable with working with wood & the steps required [I think] - but how about the brass pins & the lanyard hole?
where do you guys recommend getting those & how do i install?
I have seen some that are just brass rods that get peened & sanded down after epoxy & then some are screws and/or rivets....
I already have the Bushlore & love it - any reason to start fresh with a blank as opposed to 're-handling'??

If you can get the old handle off, why not?
The screws are called corby bolts but regular pinn stock will do.
Spend some time reading here and then just go ahead!
