Hoppes #9 oil? Other lubes?

I use the Hoppes #9 and Rem oil - depending on which is closer when I need it.

As Charlie Mike said - yea- that Hoppe's is a great aroma - reminds me of cleaning my guns!

Hoppes # 9, a cool early morning. You can't beat that smell. Get the dogs up and go hunting.

First off, thank your mom for doing that. That's what all good children must do. Then thank her for getting a product you can use on just about anything needing lube, i.e. knives, guns, fishing reels, tools. I even dumped some into the bolt of my AR-15 prior to a shoot when I had no Mobil 1. There are lots of good "modern" lubes out there but us old school guys can still count on Hoppes and 3-in-1.

if you ever make any custom handle scales or anything like that then it will come in handy for oiling up the handles to return the sheen and remove the grey grind lines from your G-10. I also use t as pivot lube. its good enough for me. might as well keep it in my opinion

Nothing beats the smell of a well oiled weapon.

Hoppes #9 is great stuff. Easy to find orange bottle , inexpensive, and pretty much every outdoor shop in North America has it . I've been using it for years in my guns and knives with good results.

I am also wondering if anyone has used FROG LUBE on any of there knifes?
I been using for my handguns with great results from my Kimber TLE/RL Stainless, to Sig Sauer, S&W M&P`s to my H&K USP with no problems at all.
But I am new to the knife world when it comes to different blade materials.. So I am not sure if it would work with let's say a ZT 0560 Elmax blade..

The steel of the knife is irrelevant 99.9% of the time. The point being of higher importance is the fact that oil can, does, and will always grab lint, dust, dirt, etc from your pockets. Some people such as myself, run most knives without much greasiness in the pivot.

I use Sentry Solutions Tuf-Glide and Benchmade Blue Lube. For a while I used Wahl Clipper oil, my mom used it on her hair clippers. It worked pretty good.
