Thanks for the comment.. this knife was made from scrap steel laying around the workshop and had quite dimple in what was to be the blade area. I have made a couple of knives in the past with holes in the blade and some times i think it adds to the appeal.

I had thought it was for when you choke up on the blade for fine work you had extra purchase to prevent your fingers slipping on the blade. I have a few knives like this, mostly Skinners. Either way - Damn nice looking blade Lance!
