Horn or Hardie that is the question. For heavy drawing do you use the horn or do you use a drawing hardie. I like using the horn as i can really hit it hard.

I use a guillotine hardy tool I made to do fullering. I hate fullering blades cept at the end when I'm fiddling around with the shape and stuff, this tool really helps me not hate it so much lol.

I use both, as well as the radiused edge of my anvil.

or a guillotine tool that I made similar to Raymond Richard's "Godzilla"

it all depends on what I'm doing and how I want it done.

the Godzilla tool is for AGGRESSIVE drawing
The hardie tool is for Aggressive drawing
the radiused anvil edge is for moderate drawing
the horn is for refining the shape drawing and fine tuning

I normally use the horn when drawing on the anvil. I have a few hardy tools for drawing but I cannot get the results that I can with the horn. I can really wail on the steel moving it freely. Now for my heavy drawing I use my 100# Beaudry or my press. Saves on the tendinitis.

I use the horn for drawing almost exclusively, that's what its for. If I really want to move the metal I use a cross peen. Most dont use the horn as much as it should be used.
