Hello all. I am new to the board, but have been a fan for some time now. I was in the market to purchase a BM 942 for myself and a Spyderco jester for my GF. To make a long story short I received awful customer serive from the above store. So I will not ever do business with them again. So with that being said.

Where is trusted online store to go? Also does anyone offer online price matching? Thank you.

Happy trials.

Wrong forum. Moving

That's true, Fred is a good guy and has interesting comments on the forums, too.

Please note, however, from Ken Collucci's avatar that he has excellent taste, so you can trust his recommendations :)

TorzJohnson has a good list, too.

Waynegro, welcome to Bladeforums. I hope your future knife experiences are all happy ones! :D Please notice that 1 Stop Knife Shop is the sponsor of these forums.

This is an obvious agenda troll. Fred from Knife Outlet offers very good service; there was one time I ordered from him and included certain instructions for shipment which he surpassed on his own initiative.

I don't buy this, "Golly, guys, I just registered and KO gave me bad service," particularly with no details provided. He's probably someone who just has reason to hate Fred -- or even worse, runs a competing business and is looking to insert a sly plug. What do you want to bet that he'll come back and say, "Online Dealer X gave me great service, good show, buddy," and turn out to be the same guy?

This is crap.

Fred's a good guy, and even the best of us screw up now and then. Last week, I had a raging headache, was sneezing my head off due to allergies, and in general was in a foul mood. Before I realized it, I took it out on a customer who really didn't deserve it. Fortunately he understood and accepted my apology - but I still felt bad the rest of the day.

So, Phil, before you label the guy as a troll, he may be right - but there are always two sides to the story. Fred's a regular reader on the forums, I'm sure he'll be happy to make things right if possible.

Waynebro,

What I would like to know is what problem you had with Knife Outlet that caused you to make the decision to never use them again. You are pretty vague in that aspect.

Please give more details as to the problems you had with Knifeoutlet. Your statement is way to vague to be of any value.

Agree with the above. Just what did happen? "...received awful customer serive..." really is very vague. More detail would be appreciated.

Another vote for Fred. I've had nothing but quick delivery and good products from the KnifeOutlet.

My service was good when I ordered from them a few times, but there was also a call where I felt a little 'tude coming through the phone. But I can understand people have bad days and problems managing a business, so it wasn't big deal.

Hey Guys....

I can tell you from experience,, of running 3 businesses,,two active,,one retired that customer service,, especially with such a demanding business can be Very frustrating at times....

Fred's always been nice to me,although I haven't dealt with him in a few years,, I'm sure he hasn't changed much...

ttyle

Eric....

I didn't want this to turn into a flame war. So it's not going to go there. I also didn't want to smear Fred's name over the net or anything. He was very professional. We just didn't see eye to eye on things, and that's the way it goes sometimes. No big deal. I ordered my knife elsewhere, and the problem has been solved.

Glad to be aboard. Can't wait to get my new knives.

Personally I buy most of my knives from razorsharpknife on ebay. I've bought 5 knives from him with fair and fast shipping and much less than retail prices.

I know that alot of folks are afraid or leery of the uncertainty of ebay, so i figured another name to add to the list couldn't hurt.

So, you're going to claim you got "awful" service, but you're not going to offer any details as to why?

I also didn't want to smear Fred's name over the net or anything.

Of course you did, or you wouldn't have said anything. By definition you're smearing his name over the net by claiming you got "awful" service but not offering any details whatsoever to back up your story.

He was very professional.

How does that constitute "awful" service, then?

We just didn't see eye to eye on things, and that's the way it goes sometimes. No big deal.

Doesn't sound "awful" to me.
