I purchased a Cold Steel AD15 from Amazon Resale (used to be Amazon Warehouse) and what came was the worst fake I have personally seen. It had poorly fitted plastic scales instead of G10 and a cheap molded PLASTIC lock bar. Not to mention the blade didn’t fit into the handle all the way. Yes, Amazon will accept it back, but they are also holding onto my funds for up to 30 days.

I just wanted to tell my cautionary tale so others check any purchases from Amazon carefully, even those bought from Amazon itself and nit a third party seller. i still don't know how anyone could have touched this thing without immediately seeing it for what it was and trashing it.

I suspect this was a return to Amazon .

A genuine product was bought and this fake was returned for a refund .

And yes , I'd beware possible problems like this from Amazon Resale .

But not Cold Steel product purchased new from Amazon.com . They come directly from GSM / Cold Steel .

I'm not defending Amazon Resale . I've had numerous issues with them .

I just wonder how whoever inspected it upon return didn’t realize it was fake and keep it from being resold.

I know a guy who bought a TV from Best Buy and then returned his old TV in the new TV box. I think about that a lot. I don’t really know that guy anymore.

Anyway, I’m sure someone pulled the old switch-a-roo and some minimum wage Amazon worker with a jarbenza in his pocket didn’t notice the difference.

I don't think anyone at Amazon actually inspects anything, really. other than open box or not open box....and goes into one bin or the other......

You’re probably right - which begs the question of where those condition ratings and descriptions come from.

don't know, don't work there.....my guess and it's a guess, would be box condition and whatever data was entered from the original return.

amount of returns there must be overwhelming even with their automated systems galore.....

usa has become return crazy....it's out of control. I see more folks in the Walmart return line, when I go, then in the checkout lines......im exaggerating to make a point. 30 years ago you'd see 1 or 2 people in the return line, or none. now you'll see a half dozen to many more at any given time with open and used products. it's really just gotten sad, pitiful and embarrassing.....
