I expected it center on the blade, like they did on the last knife I bought from them. Anyone ever get something like this? It's so wrong.

Not a good font...not really going to look good anywhere, but that was your choice I'm assuming.
But I do like that it can be seen with the blade closed.

That's pretty funny.

Did you have an option of placement?

I would personally just run with it, as it's unmistakably yours and unique.

Maybe it's just me but I kind of like it? Bet you can still see it when the blade is closed too.

This is coming from someone who is an ocd freak about symmetry as well 🤷‍♂️

(I couldn't find the dude version of that emoticon.. I really hope that's not the dude version).

Yeah, I don't think it looks bad. If you hadn't said it was wrong, I wouldn't have batted an eye.

Time to get the dremel out and give it a CMFTW treatment so that it doesn't start owning you

Is it that they put spaces between the words? “nevertakeadayoff “
Or the Body Crab below the word off?

From now on I'll always detail the placement of the text in the notes section. Lesson learned. However, every other knife from (other vendors) I had engraved was centered on the blade... even the last one I bought from this vendor was centered... : |

I see now I should have been more specific in the poll, too. Oh well, this was fun.

I did just find a local place I can drive to for laser engraving. So, the good part in all of this is that I can stop buying from vendors who don't do laser engraving. The glass is half full : )

Forehead tattoo. haha.

I had a friend who ordered a knife and sheath from me to have engraved to make it a commemorative gift for a friend of his that was retiring from the Navy. The laser guys got the knife right but spelled US Navy, US Navie on the sheath. Fortunately it was just the sheath and their was time to build another. They got the spelling right the second time.

LOL WOW! The person who did that job needs to get slapped in the face with a GED. Thanks for sharing.

That's actually not the best placement for this engraving and I'd be a bit miffed too if I had paid money for it.
However, it also gave me a chuckle, as the person doing the engraving was definitely ready for a day off 🤣...
This is now part of YOUR knife journey, and if the knife is a user, I'd just go with it.

Maybe send a link to this thread to the "offender", maybe they give you a discount or an extra for your pain...

We did not do this engraving. No sign of it in our orders and that style/alignment is not something our engraver would do.

N nevertakeadayoff If we did and I missed it, please let me know - because its not something I'd be happy with leaving our shop.

Hi! Nope, not an order from DLT. To be clear, I didn't mention the vendor.

I wanted to go with DLT but #1, I don't think the S110V was in stock (or did i mixup with the maxamet?). #2, I don't remember having an option of adding notes for engraving both sides, so the other vendor was more convenient.

I am happy to hear you guys wouldn't do something so eccentric : )
