Horrible Tragedy

Extremely Sad to hear about this. Hoss and I exchanged emails concering a Maker we both admired - Geno Denning . He seemed very pleasant. So sad when something like this happens.

A T Barr, I'm sure that must have been quite a shock, having just talked to him and all. I'm sorry for you, for him and for his family.

This news hits me like a hammer, He was one of my best & nicest knife Buddys.

I will miss my Hawaiian Brother :(

Very sad.

Just came across this thread. Prayers for his family. It's always a tremendous loss and shock to see a friend leaving so suddenly.

Suddenly, like a match blown out in a dark room, people can go so very quickly! Prayers sent, emailed with him a few times and he always had a good demeanor in his posts, avid collector with an immense passion for knives. Sad to hear this news!

Gary, several years ago, I made Thomas's first custom knife. It was a large clip point with a Spyderco hole. The scales were amber jigged bone. I told Thomas to send the knife to you for a nice pouch.

He was so pleased with your work and commented several times on it.

Sincerely,

A.T.

Thomas's Obit was in Sundays Obits.

Even though I personally don't know Thomas Haas, may he rest in peace and my sincere condolences to everyone who knew Thomas. May his family and friends find solace in knowing that he has gone to a better place and that he will always live on in our memories.

I would like to pass my condolences to the Haas family. You could always trust Tom. He was one of the class "gents" that we have here. He reminded me a lot of Bob Irons who we lost several years ago. That is why I was shocked when we were in the middle of a deal and I didn't hear back from him. Your gut tells you immediately that this wasn't right because Tom always got back to you. I have had guys back out of deals and I am usually never surprised when that happens but this time, I got confused. Tom always got back to me when we dealt in the past. When Mrs. Haas emailed me and told me he died I felt like the wind got knock out of me and I felt almost guilty that I could have doubted him. It felt like when we lost Jim & Doc. Other good Karma guys. No matter what ups and downs I have had in my life in the last few years, I have always felt welcomed when I would occasionally show back up here. It is because of guys like Thomas Haas that makes Blade Forums feel like "home". He will be missed. Please forgive my rambling.

Thomas Haas was one of the very good guys. He was a loyal customer and a good friend I never had the chance to meet in person. My sincere condolences to his wife and family, I can't imagine what they must be going through.

Rest in Peace Thomas Haas.

I had some knife deals with Thomas Haas quite some time ago.Very pleasant and courteous individual.Shocked to hear this news.

Such a terrible tragedy for a young, pleasant man with great taste in knives.

I came oh so close to buying a Circles Umfaan from him a few weeks ago, but someone bought it out from under me.

Only the good die young.

This is depressing. Hoss was a fine man and crazy about his wife and kids. Go easy Thomas.

Another great man gone, Tragic news, my sincere condolences to everyone who mourns his passing especialy his loved ones. My prayers are with him.
