horror!! who has CRK service("spa") experience?

It sounds like the threads in your backspacers are not stripped, you just need to remove the loctite. Try holding a bic to the backspacers to break up the loctite and then unscrew them while holding the smooth end of the bacspacer as tightly as possible. Nothing is ruined and in need of repair, you just have to clean it a bit more.

If you get it blasted it will look brand new, I sent my 10 + year old large bg-42 back a few months ago and I couldnt believe how good it looked when I got it back. It had been so long since I had seen a new one I forgot what they look like. People complain about how much they cost but the customer service and warranty are unmatched.

I just sent my Umnumzaan back to the CRK for warranty work and the service was unmatched. The prices are listed on the web site so there should not be any misinformation issues.

I would also put a note inside with the knife relating what you want done and if there is a problem to call you prior to any work.

All the communications I had with CRK was very helpfull. The service was fast and done correctly.

CRK should be a model for customer service for all other knife companies to follow. There customer service is one of the reason I don't mind spending as much on their products.

So go ahead and spend the money, get the full treatment, you won't regret it.
