I plan on making a few filet knives with horse stall matt handles. Can you shape these and how to do it? What is best way to pin handles to blade? Thanks.

i use neoprene and all i use is superglue. i have knives that are about 17 years old that are still holding up fine done in this manner. just rough up the tang real good along with the mat and remove any dust with a wire brush to make sure everything is clean.

Do you contour the scales then? And if so..regular belts and normal procedure as in hard scales? Thanks again

I made a dirtbike stand for a friend and glued some mat to the top of it with G2 epoxy; I tried pulling on it and the mat started to pull apart around the edge of the glue. I prepped it by sanding the steel and mat with 50 grit belt.

just sand them down like any other material. neoprene or rubber dust gets all over the place so i try to sand outside and hope its windy when i do.
